Biography

Marie-Hélène Laurent, Ing. is senior researcher at EDF-R&D, specializing in energy demand forecasting and prospective studies for building sectors.

Marie-Hélène is a process engineer who started working 10 years ago on the “building sector” for EDF R&D. The two research teams she is involved in as scientific leader (domestic and non domestic sector) consist of 14 researchers and 4 PhD. Since 1998, her research activity is focused on energy demand and power forecasting and prospective studies for building sectors (France and European scales). Outside and inside EDF, she has contributed to numerous prospective scenarios at 2030 and 2050 scales, last of them including non normative modelling and behaviour change impacts. She is a member of Futuribles board and of experts pools in charge of European and national (ANR) research projects on energy efficiency in buildings.

She is presently involved in several collaborative research projects and studies as “CLIP scenarios about factor 4 by 20250 in French households” or ENERGIHAB, ANR project on social, technical and economic aspects of energy consumption in French dwellings.
