Power temperature gradients as a fuel poverty indicator

Harry Kennard, UCL Energy Institute

Overview

Plotting the metered energy of a dwelling against external temperature gives an indication of the thermal performance of the building in terms of the power temperature gradient (PTG).

This project will use data from the Energywise research project, which samples from households likely to experience fuel poverty, in order to understand the potential of the PTG as an indicator of fuel poverty.
