Biography

Matt joined the LoLo CDT in 2016 following a five year stint teaching mathematics at Seoul Global High School, South Korea, a position that allowed him to pass on lessons learned during his undergraduate mathematics degree at Oxford. Matt is delighted to be working in a field in which mathematical and statistical methods can be applied to an area of national importance.

Matt’s MRes thesis focused on factors influencing domestic electricity demand in English homes, providing insight into seasonal variation in domestic electricity consumption patterns. His PhD research will focus on in-use building thermal performance assessment methods in the context of UK dwellings.
