Ben Roberts, a LoLo PhD student at Loughborough University, gave a presentation at the 38th AIVC Conference in Nottingham and displayed a poster based on a paper he submitted investigating the effects of refurbishment and trickle vent use in one of Loughborough University’s test houses. The paper was co-authored with Dr David Allinson, Professor Kevin Lomas and Dr Stephen Porritt. The paper found that whilst refurbishing a house with new double glazing, doors and loft insulation gave an improvement in airtightness, it did not meet the airtightness requirements for new build homes or have a negative impact on indoor air quality.
