LoLo 2015 Conference: Call for abstracts
The deadline for the abstract submission is extended for a week! New submission deadline is the 15 March!
The London-Loughborough Centre for Doctoral Research in Energy Demand is holding its 2nd student-led research conference on 22 April 2015 (11am – 8pm) in Loughborough. This year’s theme is:
“Sustainability and Buildings – walking the tightrope to 2050”
The conference is open to all current and recently graduated UK and international research students and is intended as a platform to network, share experiences and debate issues of sustainability and buildings.
This invitation is for abstracts – leading to an oral or poster presentation – concerning research which addresses any of the following themes:
1- Sustainable buildings
2- Health and wellbeing
3- Environmental behaviour
4- Energy technologies
5- Energy resources
6- Climate change
7- Sustainable cities
8- Research methods
9- Energy policy
10- Bridging the gap between buildings and people
Submissions should demonstrate the link between the research and real-world impacts, for example, in terms of how it could help meet European 2050 targets for a low-carbon economy.

All abstracts will be peer-reviewed by a panel of research students from Loughborough University and UCL. Abstracts will be published electronically and/or in the conference pack.
Prizes will be awarded to the best presenter and best poster
Help with travel expenses
Some assistance with the travelling expenses will be available for eligible students.
Formatting your abstract
Abstract to be submitted in a word-document and should contain the following:
• Title of the submission
• Up to three conference themes the abstract falls under
• Author name(s), academic affiliation and contact email and phone number of corresponding author (please also indicate who will be presenting)
• Abstract of maximum 350 words (provide up to 5 keywords), include references where necessary/appropriate.
• Abstracts should be embedded within the abstract template which is downloadable here.
Important dates
• Deadline for abstract submission: 15 March 2015
• Notification of acceptance: 20 March 2015
• Confirmation of detailed conference programme: Around 22 March 2015
• Author submission of presentation (e.g. PowerPoint) and/or poster presentation: 8 April 2015
